Strong and supple is the motto for this class devoted to developing full-body strength and stability. We begin with a thorough warm-up, continue with sets for toning the upper body using hand held weights, alternating with dance moves for cardio conditioning. We do mat work targeting core, abs, and legs, and end with a luscious, lengthening stretch.
We begin with a full-body scan and gentle movements to bring awareness to our physical structure and a sense of connectivity throughout the skeleton.
We continue with strengthening exercises for core muscles, abdominals, pelvic floor, legs, and back. Working through a range of stretches for increasing our flexibility, we come onto our feet feeling lighter and more ideally aligned.

The class consists of a mindful warm-up, easy-to-follow choreography danced to an eclectic soundtrack, (Salsa, Afrobeats, Punk, Hip Hop, Jazz, etc.,) and a cool down/stretch to leave you feeling energized for the rest of your weekend.
In this class we take a pause from typical exercise, in order to feel ourselves from the inside. We aim to develop our sense of proprioception, and in that way gain a better sense of where we are in space, and how we move. Moshe Feldenkrais said that you can do what you want when you know what you do. This knowing what we do and how we do it, is key to improving the quality of our movement, our mobility, and our stability. It is key to developing our choices and expertise in movement of all kinds, whether recovering from an injury, or engaging in high level performance activities such as dance or sports.
Specifically guided movement explorations lead us to release habitually held tension in our muscles, and to discover more comfort, range of motion, and grace in our physicality.
