Strong and supple is the motto for this class focused on full-body strength, alignment and flexibility. We begin with a thorough warm-up, continue with light-medium weights for toning the upper body, and moves for cardio conditioning. We do mat work targeting core, abs, and legs, and end with a feel-great lengthening stretch. Book for the monthly calendar series or drop in with singles.
Kim's signature class is a soul-inspiring, high-energy, follow-along dance workout that will make you dance, move, sweat, elevate your cardio capacity, and your spirits!
We have a thoughtful warm-up, easy-to-follow choreography danced to an eclectic soundtrack, (Salsa, Afrobeats, Punk, Hip Hop, Jazz, etc.,) and a cool down/stretch to leave you feeling energized for the rest of your weekend.
Beginning-Intermediate Level - Warm-up, including mat work and center floor pliés, followed by progressions across the floor, and choreography. Kim uses eclectic music and dance vocabulary including, classic jazz, pop, Afrobeats and Latin. Book the monthly calendar series or drop in.
In this class, informed by Kim's extensive experience with the Feldenkrais Method® of Somatic Education we focus on observing and feeling ourselves from the inside. We aim to develop our sense of proprioception, and in that way gain a better sense of where we are in space, and how we move. Specifically guided movement explorations lead us to release habitually held tension in our body, and to discover more comfort, range and grace in our movement.
